All that I am or hope to
be I owe to my mother.
~Abraham Lincoln
Mother's Day is very special each year at Old Fashioned Living. We want to take this
opportunity to honor our Mothers and our Grandmothers, without whom we would
not be the adults that we have become without their nurturing, friendship
and guidance.
Moms are caregivers, cheerleaders, counselors, nutritionists and so
much more. Be sure to do something special for your Mom this Mother's
Day. We have features that will inspire and encourage you,
so brew a cup of tea and stay awhile!

Quotations on Mothers and Motherhood
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving
A mother is a person who seeing there
are only four pieces of pie for five people,
promptly announces she never did care
for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan
Before you were conceived I wanted you
Before you were born I loved you
Before you were here an hour I would die for you
This is the miracle of life.
~Maureen Hawkins
Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows,
brothers, and sisters, aunts and cousins,
but only one mother in the whole world.
~Kate Douglas Wiggin
Becoming a mother makes you the mother
of all children. From now on each wounded,
abandoned, frightened child is yours. You
live in the suffering mothers of every race
and creed and weep with them. You long to
comfort all who are desolate. ~Charlotte Gray
She broke the bread into two fragments and gave
them to her children, who ate with eagerness.
"She hath kept none for herself," grumbled the
sergeant, "Because she is not hungry." said a
soldier "No," said the sergeant, "Because she
is a mother." ~Victor Hugo
