My father-in-law passed away on August 8, 2000.
He lived his life serving God and was ready to go home.
We all love and miss him.
He was an officer in the US Air Force, retired then went to
work for Social Security. He was a deacon & a Sunday school
teacher at his church. There was a memorial service in
Celebration of his life. Many that attended, said it was
truely uplifting. The following is something I read and
describes how he lived his life.
A woman diagnosed with a terminal illness asked her
pastor to handle her final wishes. She told him the
songs & scriptures and then she said "Just one more thing.
I want to be buried with a fork in my hand."
She explained after the dishes of the main course
were being cleared, someone always said, "Keep your
fork. Cuz something good was going to be served for
dessert." So, I want people to see me with a fork
in my hand and ask, " What's with the fork?"
Then you will say, "Keep your fork the best is yet to come."
