A Flowered Tambourine Project

You will need for each tambourine:
1 paper plate
a handful of beans
markers or crayons
stapler
hole punch
colored ribbon or yarn
flowers and leaves to trace

Decorate your tambourine by gently folding the paper plate over so the sides meet. Decorate each half by tracing and coloring flowers and leaves. You can also gently brush some paint on the flowers, or leaves and press them onto the plate. Write your name on the plate.

Let your plate dry then fold your plate over completely so the sides meet. Starting at one end staple close together going around the edge. When you get part of the way finished drop your beans in the plate and continue stapling. For further decoration punch one hole on each end and tie ribbon or yarn to make strands on your tambourine. Thin silk ribbon works well for this.
